Jeremy Fears Jr. can add another All-American honor to his growing list of achievements.
The Michigan State basketball point guard was named a second-team All-American by The Associated Press on Tuesday, March 17. That goes along with his third-team All-America honors from Sporting News last week.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound third-year sophomore from Joliet, Illinois, leads the nation at 9.2 assists per game and is the Spartans’ leader with 15.7 points and 32.2 minutes per game this season. Fears also was named to the All-Big Ten first team last week.
The Spartans (25-7) are the No. 3 seed in the East Region, opening against No. 14 seed North Dakota State at 4:05 p.m. Thursday at KeyBank Center in Buffalo, NY. The winner advances to face the winner of 7-seed Louisville and 10-seed South Florida on Sunday for a chance to advance to the Sweet 16.
Fears helped the Spartans to the Elite Eight last season and a 30-7 record.
