After a sensational season with Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., top 2027 Iowa basketball recruit Cayden Daughtry was named MaxPreps’ National Junior of the Year and to its junior All-America Team.
This past season, Daughtry powered Calvary Christian to their second consecutive state championship, averaging 26.5 points, 5.2 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per game, while shooting 54.5% from the field, 36.8% from 3-point range, and 86% at the free-throw line, according to MaxPreps.
Daughtry joins Reese Alston, Beckham Black, King Gibson, and Darius Wabbington on the Junior All-America Team.

The 6-foot, 160-pound point guard rates as a four-star and as the No. 18 overall prospect, No. 4 point guard and No. 6 player in Florida, according to 247Sports.
Along with Iowa, Daughtry has received offers from schools such as Miami, Florida State, BYU, Ohio State, and defending national champion Michigan.
While the Hawkeyes will certainly face stiff competition to land the highly-skilled guard, Iowa hopes that its Elite Eight run this past season will shed light on the potential powerhouse that head coach Ben McCollum is building in Iowa City.
