The San Antonio Spurs will try to feed off the momentum with a 122-115 double overtime win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1. This Western Conference Final series opened with a bang, with Victor Wembanyama going off on a historic night.
The Spurs big man racked up 41 points and 24 rebounds, which is a record for best debut in a conference finals game. Wemby was also the second player in franchise history to hit the 40-20 mark in the NBA Playoffs, joining David Robinson from 30 years ago.
As for the Thunder, this was a head-to-head clash after going undefeated in the first two rounds. The energy was matched between both teams throughout the game. However, outside Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams, the Oklahoma City starters combined for 15 points. Alex Caruso was a huge spark off the bench with 31 points in 32 minutes.

19.7: Two OKC possession with buckets and up 122-113. This series looks to be knotted at 1-1 going to San Antonio
1:01: OKC still up by five with Spurs getting the ball out of the timeout. This is shaping up like the end of Game 1 with both teams fighting for points.
1:31: Thunder lead down to 118-113. Spurs pulling out the right stops in the final minutes.
2:56: Teams trade baskets with Thunder up 116-108. This could come down to the final possession.
3:19: Thunder up 114-108 with the upcoming possessions key for both teams.
5:40: Teams start to trade buckets with Thunder up 112-103. This is clutch time.
7:22: 8-0 run by the Thunder with the Spurs going cold.
7:55: Back-to-back 3’s by the Thunder put them up 105-97. The Spurs come up empty on the 6-0 run.
9:05: Spurs cut the Thunder lead to 99-97. Harrison Barnes knocks downs a 3-pointer with OKC going a little cold on offense. Timeout on the floor.
10:35: Stephon Castle’s layup cuts the lead to 96-92. The Thunder is trying to catch the Spurs on a bad switch on offense.

Oklahoma City won the quarter with a strong finish. The two teams went back-and-forth.
2:56: Thunder take a 10-point lead at 87-77. Wemby back out on the floor for the Spurs. We’ll see if San Antonio can cut into the lead before the end of the quarter.
4:50: Thunder jump back out to a 77-73 lead. Timeout on the floor after Chet Holmgren and Dylan Harper fight for loose ball and collide. Both headed to the locker room.
6:44: Spurs down 72-71 with momentum in the quarter. This is the point where OKC needs an answer.
8:07: Spurs got on a 11-3 run to tie the game. Wemby has woken up in the second half with blocks and buckets.
10:20: Teams trade bucket to start the 3rd quarter with OKC up 66-55. Wemby needs to catch fire a bit with only two FGs made.

2:56: Bodies are flying on the floor on both ends. Foul called with Stephon Castle headed to the free throw line. Thunder holding on to a 56-47 lead.
4:36: Stephon Castle layup with OKC up 51-45. He’s carrying the load for the Spurs on offense.
