Jordan Ott finished fifth for 2025-26 NBA Coach of the Year after coaching the Phoenix Suns to 45 wins and a return to the playoffs.
The Suns missed the postseason last season under Mike Budenholzer with a Big 3 of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.
Boston Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla won this season’s award with 62 first-place votes and 392 total points.
The Celtics earned the second seed in the Eastern Conference despite being without All-Star forward Jayson Tatum for most of the regular season.
Detroit Pistons coach J.B. Bickerstaff placed second with 29 first-place votes and 312 points while San Antonio Spurs coach Mitch Johnson finished third with nine first-place votes and 133 total points.
A global media panel of 100 voters selected the 2025-26 NBA Coach of the Year. The coaches received five points for a first-place vote, three for second place and one for third place.

Charlotte Hornets coach Charles Lee finished fourth with 31 total points while Ott managed 11 points as he received one second-place vote and eight third-place votes.
Ott finished one point better than Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault, who didn’t receive a first-place vote despite coaching the Thunder to an NBA-best 64 wins and the top overall seed in the NBA playoffs.
Ott was Phoenix’s fourth head coach in four seasons. He was named Western Conference coach of the month of January.
