The haves and the have nots in the NFL are becoming more and more apparent and the Arizona Cardinals are part of the latter, not the former.
Adam Schefter is reporting that the Los Angeles Rams are trading for the best defensive player in the NFL, in Myles Garrett:
Garrett is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year and set an NFL record with 23 sacks last season.
Jared Verse is a nice player, he had 4.5 sacks his rookie year where he was the Defensive Rookie of the Year, and followed up with 7.5 sacks this last season, making his 12 sacks in his career less than what Garrett averages in a season (14).
While people will try and site the age of Garrett, 30 and will be 31 this year, giving up Verse and a likely late first round pick for the best defensive player in the NFL and potentially one of the greatest pass rushers of all time is really a no brainer.
At least the Cardinals are in a contract dispute with Jacoby Brissett to stay relevant in the NFC West.
