Tennessee baseball infielder Blake Grimmer is withdrawing from the MLB draft and will return for the 2027 season.
Grimmer’s decision was announced on July 1. He will be a redshirt junior next season.
Grimmer hit .283 with 13 home runs and 36 RBIs in 2026, his first full season as a starter. Grimmer was a staple near the top of Tennessee’s lineup after missing some time early in the season, often hitting second, third or fourth in the order. Originally a corner infielder, he spent most of the season as the Vols‘ starting second baseman. He made 48 total starts, also playing first base.
As a redshirt freshman in 2025, Grimmer made 27 appearances and nine starts, hitting .318 with four home runs and 15 RBIs.
