Syracuse has opened its training camp ahead of the new college football season, and with competition in the ACC perhaps at its fiercest in recent years, questions are bound to be asked about whether this team has what it takes to compete for major championships. Questions that perhaps head coach Fran Brown isn’t quite ready to answer just yet.
Because when reporters spoke to Brown about possible budget constraints for Syracuse amid heavy spending by competitors, he answered in the most Fran Brown way possible.
“I wouldn’t ask my wife who she thinks is cutest coach around…there’s certain things that you’re better off just not knowing,” he said when asked about the budget of other programs. “I’m comfortable with who I am. Comfortable with what we have. Worry about ourselves.”
Fans Are Convinced Syracuse Doesn’t Have the Same Budget as Other ACC Teams
Fran Brown’s comments didn’t exactly make a convincing argument to the fans, who spoke out in the comments section about how they really feel about their beloved Syracuse’s chances in the ACC.
If this was Brown’s way of hinting at a lack of funds, it might be a bit too late to make the claim, with the campaign starting on Sept. 5 against New Hampshire.
