If former North Carolina guard Seth Trimble is allowed to play college basketball in 2026, it will come with a new team. Trimble will reportedly transfer to Louisville … if he is able to keep his eligibility.
Trimble, 22, entered the transfer portal in the spring. He was part of a ruling that allowed “class of 2022 high schoolers a fifth season of college eligibility,” per ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
Whether the ruling holds up remains a major question. The NCAA has argued against it, which means Trimble and others will “need the U.S Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit to uphold the injunction,” per Thamel.
Trimble, who spent some time in the NBA Summer League, though never signed an NBA contract, reportedly left North Carolina due to a logjam of talent at guard.
