Arch Manning called his fall before kickoff “a shock.”
Video circulating the social media platform known as X showed the Texas football quarterback taking a tumble in the smokey tunnel while running out with teammates pregame Saturday against Texas State. Manning ended up throwing for 305 yards and three touchdowns in the 59-7 victory.
“It was good I got my first hit out of the way before the game,” he joked with reporters at a Monday news conference.

Video showed someone in the crowd along the tunnel reach for Manning but it looked like his arm was hooked and the quarterback fell forward.

“It’s hard to see in that smoke. It’s a bit deceiving,” Manning said.
Seemingly fine after the small spill, Manning and the Longhorns are preparing for a rematch with Ohio State at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Austin.
