An exciting forward is closing in joining Liverpool’s first-team very soon.
One thing Andoni Iraola has a shortage of is adequate options at senior level in the no.9 position.
With the injury of Hugo Ekitike, it’s really just Alexander Isak who is a recognised forward option.
There are players who can fill that role like Federico Chiesa and Cody Gakpo, or even Victor Munoz and Bradley Barcola have played that role, but they are all better in other areas of the pitch.
It’s going to be very interesting to see how Iraola is going to navigate this tricky period while the Reds wait for Ekitike to return.
In the summer market, Liverpool were definitely open to bringing in another player who can play centrally. Ismaila Sarr seemed to be a target but the Reds could not agree a deal for him.
Liverpool’s exciting attacking options in the academy
Obviously, Jayden Danns is someone who could help out and he is a player who many Liverpool fans will be familiar with. Lewis Koumas, who scored his first goal in the same game Danns did, is now also a first-team squad member.
Behind them there’s a plethora of young players being lined-up.
Will Wright, who scored over 50 goals in a single season at Salford City’s academy is in great form for the U21s scoring four times in his first three games of the campaign, three in two Premier League 2 games and one in a friendly against Liefering.
There’s also Josh Sonni-Lambie, who made his first-team debut in pre-season and Finn Inglethorpe who has six goal contributions in his first three games for the U18s this season.
It’s an exciting group, and soon there will be a new name added to the list.
Meet Liverpool’s exciting forward Ade Adediran, who is getting closer to the first-team
A player who is still only 14-years-old, Adediran has been catching the eye by scoring goals for fun at youth tournaments across the the globe for Liverpool’s academy.
He won the Diogo Jota Award at the inaugural Virgil van Dijk Legacy Trophy last year scoring eight goals in five games.
Meanwhile, this summer the Liverpool U14 forward broke headlines by making 39 goal contributions in just two tournaments, finishing top-scorer at the U13 Orange Veins Ian Frodsham Memorial Cup and TSC International Tournament.
In the latter he even won the Player of the Tournament award.
Now, recently Adediran signed a major deal with Nike, becoming part of a small selection of footballers still represented by the giant brand.
Adediran followed that up by earning a promotion to Liverpool’s U16 side and scoring on his debut against Coventry.
A tall and prolific forward, Adediran seems like the next big thing and with his goals now coming at U16 level the next step is the U18s and after that the first-team really isn’t far away.
So, keep an eye out, he’ll be heading towards the senior team soon at this rate.
