The Philadelphia 76ers will spend plenty of time in transit during LeBron James’ first season with the franchise.
A CanadaSportsBetting.ca analysis of the 2026-27 NBA schedule projects Philadelphia to make 62 individual trips, the highest total among all 30 teams. That distinction adds another wrinkle to James’ 24th NBA season as he adjusts to a new organization and a travel schedule featuring more separate journeys than any other club faces.
The Sixers do not lead the league in projected distance, however. Their estimated 41,320 miles place them 19th overall, creating a sharp contrast between how often they travel and how far they will go.

Philadelphia Faces Frequent Travel Without Leading in Mileage
Memphis sits directly behind Philadelphia with 61 trips but projects to cover 46,097 miles, nearly 5,000 more than the Sixers. Milwaukee and Cleveland share third place with 60 trips apiece. New Orleans, Utah, and Indiana follow with 59, while San Antonio projects to make 58.
The Pelicans lead every team in estimated mileage at 55,531. The Spurs rank second at 53,948 despite making four fewer trips than Philadelphia. Utah’s 49,291 projected miles also comfortably exceed the Sixers’ total.
Researchers mapped each regular-season road game from a team’s previous location to its next venue. They paired arenas with geographic coordinates, calculated direct distances for every leg, and combined those figures into season totals. The model also included dates in Paris and Mexico City.
Those estimates do not reflect exact flight routes, connections, or private charter plans. Still, the trip count highlights Philadelphia’s unusual burden. The Sixers may avoid the NBA’s heaviest mileage total, but no team will have to get back on the road more often.
