PAWTUCKET, R.I. – The Houston Dash ended a four-match winless streak Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 victory over Boston Legacy FC at Centreville Bank Stadium.
Messiah Bright scored the go-ahead goal for Houston (8-5-12, 29 points) in the 85th minute off a header following a cross from Kyah Harper.
That made a winner of interim coach Jaime Frias in his debut. He was elevated to the role after Fabrice Gautrat was fired Sept. 13 following a fourth consecutive defeat.
Houston opened the scoring in the 44th minute when Danny Colaprico cashed in after a corner kick for her first Dash goal and first tally since Sept. 10, 2022.
Boston (7-15-3, 26) equalized on Aïssata Traoré’s strike in the 59th minute.
Dash goalie Jane Campbell finished with 10 saves to reach 100 for the season for the second time in her career.
The Dash wrap up their two-game road trip at 7:45 p.m. Saturday in Portland, Ore. Houston’s next home game is Oct. 4 against Washington at Shell Energy Stadium.
