The Auburn Tigers picked up their first SEC home victory since the 2024 season on Saturday, a 21-15 win over Vanderbilt. Did the victory change the outlook of Auburn’s remaining schedule according to the ESPN Football Power Index?
Auburn picked up a much-needed victory on Saturday versus Vanderbilt. The Tigers could not afford another loss, or a successful season would be in doubt for the first season under Alex Golesh. According to the ESPN FPI, Auburn is looking at a 78.8% chance of winning six games. They are also projected to have a win total of 6.6 games. The path to those six games will not be easy.
The Tigers will play their first true road game of the season this week as they travel to Knoxville, Tennessee, to face the No. 17 Volunteers. Auburn will then have their off week before a road trip versus current No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs. They will follow that up with tough matchups against LSU and Ole Miss. Potential wins are available in November against Arkansas and Samford, with road games at Mississippi State and Alabama. To get to six wins Auburn will need to beat someone they are not suppose to.
