The Milwaukee Brewers‘ home field might be off the hook for the moment after Tropicana Field took over MLB fans’ attention on Monday night. The New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays are involved in a heated ALDS series.
The Rays leading 1-0 in the series. However, controversy is alive in the MLB playoffs after Spencer Jones stepped to the plate in the second inning.
New York’s center fielder hit a high drive that shockingly struck the Tropicana Field catwalk. The contact was good enough to propel the ball back down before being caught by Tampa Bay right fielder Victor Mesa Jr.
The Yankees were quick to appeal to the game’s umpires, but an out was called on the field. It’s an eerily similar situation to what transpired between the Brewers and San Diego Padres on Saturday.

Ty France can relate very well to what Jones endured in Game 2 of the ALDS. The Padres star thought he hit a go-ahead home run against Milwaukee, but instead the ninth-inning sequence led to an out.
Meanwhile, the obscure out ruling occurred after Brewers outfielder Jackson Chourio was able to locate and catch the ball after it struck the roof of American Family Field.
