With Tropical Storm Isaias getting stronger, all plans for Thursday and Friday night football have been called off.
“The Game,” the annual matchup between crosstown rivals Choctawhatchee (4-2, 2-0) and Fort Walton Beach (3-4, 2-0), has been moved to 7 p.m. Monday at Joe Etheredge Stadium with the winner emerging as the District 1-4A frontrunner. The Big Green have won four straight and haven’t lost in the rivalry since 2020, while the Vikings have already eclipsed last year’s win total under second-year head coach Josh Pulliam. The Big Green lead the all-time series 33-22.
Also moving to a Monday night kickoff is Niceville (3-4, 2-0) and Pace (4-2, 1-0). The Eagles will host the Patriots for a 6 p.m. kickoff at Eagle Stadium in a game that’ll decide the District 1-5A frontrunner.
Navarre’s district matchup at Tate has been moved to Nov. 5, meanwhile. All other games, outside of tonight’s District 1-2A matchup between Pensacola Catholic (5-1, 1-0) and Freeport (3-3, 0-1) in Pensacola, are waiting to decide on makeup dates that’ll be posted here as soon as we find out more.
