For the past few weeks, NFL rumors have been swirling about Arizona Cardinals star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. potentially being on the trade block. On Saturday, ESPN insider Adam Schefter reported the pass catcher will be on the move after Week 5.
Schefter shared news of the imminent trade on social media, but there was one major problem: he never identified Harrison’s next team.
Because Schefter refuses to name a trade partner, the jokes started pouring in about the empty report, with some X users accusing the insider of being thirsty for clicks and others clowning the situation entirely.
Roasting Adam Schefter is nothing new to the streets of NFL X, but it’s always fun to see what kind of comedy the fans are willing to bring.

Schefter initially tweeted: “Breaking: the Arizona Cardinals are finalizing a deal to trade WR Marvin Harrison, sources tell me and [Ian Rapoport]. The team informed Harrison this morning that he will be inactive for Sunday’s game vs. Detroit as details of the trade are finalized.”
That was it. Nothing more, nothing less.
Schefter would later tweet that the Houston Texans were among the teams interested in the Cardinals wideout, but failed to provide any substantive information. Because Rapoport was also involved in the vague posting, he was not immune to the backlash.
That’s when the jokes started rolling in. “This is the first time I’ve seen a trade announcement where they don’t announce the team, it’s kinda fire lmao,” one fan wrote. Another joked, “No way you were this horny to be the first one to break the news that you announced a trade without knowing the team he’s going to.”
While everyone would love to know where Harrison Jr. will land, it looks like we’ll have to patiently wait for Schefter to spill the beans.
The Cardinals and Detroit Lions will face off in Glendale on Sunday afternoon at 4:25 p.m. ET. With how putrid the Lions’ defense is, it’s kind of a surprise the Cardinals didn’t wait until after that game to work on a deal, because no one in Detroit’s secondary would be capable of slowing him down.
