Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is still dealing with his ankle injury and is considered day-to-day according to head coach Jesse Minter. Jackson did not practice on Wednesday.
Jackson suffered a sprained ankle during Baltimore’s 24-18 win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 4. After not practicing last week, he was eventually ruled out two days before the Ravens’ Sunday night overtime win against the Atlanta Falcons.
On Monday, head coach Jesse Minter said that Jackson was improving, but that he wanted to see how the quarterback performed in practice before making a decision on his Week 6 availability against the Cleveland Browns.
With no practice on Wednesday, Jackson will have two more days of practice before he will get a game designation heading into the weekend.
Tyler Huntley relieved Jackson in the second half of the Titans game and went 8-for-9 for 63 yards. He played the entirety of Baltimore’s win over the Falcons, throwing for 201 yards and two touchdowns, while also scrambling for 20 yards and a touchdown.
If Jackson can’t play against the Cleveland Browns, Huntley is expected to be under center again.
Since Jackson became the Ravens’ full-time starter in 2019, the team has gone 7-11 in games he’s missed.
The Ravens currently lead the AFC North with a 4-1 record. Following Sunday’s divisional matchup against the Browns, Baltimore takes on the Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars over the next three weeks.
