Nigeria, Türkiye Agree to Fast-Track Trade, Energy and Defence Cooperation
Nigeria and Türkiye have agreed to accelerate cooperation in key sectors including trade, energy and defence, in a move aimed at boosting job creation, investment and shared prosperity between both countries.
President Bola Tinubu disclosed this on Tuesday during his ongoing state visit to Ankara, stating that discussions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan were focused on strengthening bilateral relations and delivering concrete economic benefits for citizens of both nations.
The President said both leaders reaffirmed a shared ambition to deepen collaboration in ways that would expand opportunities and drive growth.
According to Tinubu, Nigeria and Türkiye also agreed to increase trade volumes and address structural barriers that have limited business expansion between the two countries.
