Galion’s Carter Trukovich finishes as 126-pound state runner-up

COLUMBUS – Galion’s Carter Trukovich learned a hard lesson as a sophomore.

He was complacent after a fifth place finish freshman year and got a little too comfortable, then ended up not reaching the podium.

But after a year of that eating at him and a mindset shift, he got to the Division II 126-pounch championship match before dropping a 7-1 decision Licking Valley’s Joe Curry.

Trukovich becomes the third consecutive runner-up following back-to-back finishes from Gradey Harding, and fourth all-time joining Deaken McCoy (2015).
