The NFL’s new league year kicked off last week. Teams quickly finalized free agent signings and trade agreements that had been in the works for weeks.
Now, another blockbuster trade has shaken up the news cycle. The Denver Broncos have acquired explosive, playmaking wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.

The former Miami Dolphins star will join head coach Sean Payton and quarterback Bo Nix. Details of the trade package have now emerged.
Miami will send Waddle and a fourth-round pick to Denver in exchange for the Broncos’ first-, third-, and fourth-round selections in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The move comes as a surprise. The Dolphins recently signed quarterback Malik Willis, with plans to pair him with Waddle’s elite deep-threat ability.

Instead, Miami chose to deal Waddle to Denver. The trade brings in significant draft capital while also clearing a high-priced contract from the team’s books.

This year’s draft class features strong depth at wide receiver. Replacing Waddle’s game-breaking speed won’t be easy, but Miami now has the flexibility to make an aggressive move.
As for Denver, the team fell short of the Super Bowl but now adds another dynamic weapon for Nix in Payton’s offense. The question remains: can Waddle be the missing piece that pushes the Broncos back to the Super Bowl?
