The Vikings have lost some decent firepower in free agency, none bigger than wide receiver Jalen Nailor. The veteran wide receiver hit the open market and was paid handsomely by the Las Vegas Raiders as they look to turn the page on a rather bleak run as of late.
The team is bringing in Jalen Nailor, potentially to be their WR1, at worst a high-end WR2. In Minnesota, the former Michigan State Spartan was the WR3 and was used sparingly. Of course, this is through no fault of his own, as he was behind Jordan Addison and Justin Jefferson.
The move by the Raiders is one of many that are being praised by ESPN’s Benjamin Solak. In the site’s free agency round-up and discussion of winners and losers from the moves, he mentions Nailor as one of the best signings, despite how quiet the move may seem.
Solak writes, “Quietly, one of the best signings was ex-Vikings wide receiver Jalen Nailor. He brings quality field-stretching as a WR3 but could become a higher-volume player out of the shadows of Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.”
Nailor will be working with another young quarterback in Fernando Mendoza, who the Raiders are expected to draft first overall. He had success with J.J. McCarthy, when not many did, so he should be a good fit for Las Vegas in their search.
