When the Oregon Ducks reeled in the commitment of five-star Mookie Cook as part of their 2022 recruiting class, expectations were high for the in-state product. But the versatile 6-foot-6 wing from Jefferson High School and Prolific Prep never panned out for the Ducks, departing for the San Francisco Dons after two seasons.
Now after spending the 2025-26 campaign with the Dons, Cook is re-entering the transfer portal, once again looking for a new home, per League Ready’s Sam Kayser.
Coming out of high school, Cook was ranked as the No. 2 small forward and No. 40 player overall, per 247 Sports Composite. He played his senior year of high school alongside a number of highly-ranked prospects at Prolific Prep in Arizona, where he finished as the second-ranked player in the state.
Injuries slowed Cook during his freshman season at Oregon, as he appeared in just five games. He contributed slightly more as a sophomore, but ended his Ducks career with averages of just 1.1 points and 0.5 rebounds in 4.6 minutes per game as he never found solid footing under head coach Dana Altman.

Following the 2024-25 season, he landed with San Francisco, where he blossomed into a key bench piece for the Dons in averaging 7.6 points and 4.2 rebounds while converting on 44.4% from the field and 39.7% from 3-point range. San Francisco finished 17-16 with Cook recording a season-high 18 points in the team’s second game of the season.
The former five-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American will now be looking for a new home, presumably with two seasons of eligibility remaining due to his injury-riddled freshman year at Oregon.
