Michigan point guard Elliot Cadeau is “fine” after receiving medical attention for a possible allergic reaction on Wednesday, according to a statement from a university spokesman that was circulated bymultipleoutlets.
The incident occurred as the Wolverines were preparing to travel to Indianapolis for Saturday’s NCAA tournament national semifinal matchup with fellow top seed Arizona.
“Before the team departed the Player Development Center today, Elliot alerted the medical staff that he may have had an allergic reaction to something that he ate,” the Michigan spokesman said in the statement.
“The doctors evaluated Elliot, and he is fine. Out of an abundance of caution, he is receiving medical supervision and will be traveling to Indianapolis later today.”
Detroit radio station WWJ 950 posted a video on X showing someone being wheeled out of Michigan’s player development center on a gurney. That person, reportedly confirmed to be Cadeau, was loaded onto a Huron Valley Ambulance.
