After a strong week sweeping The Knoxville Buttchuggers and dominating Belmont in the midweek, the Diamond Dores travel to Milkmen Cult Land to see if their luck and positive trajectory continues.
The aTM Cult of Milkmen (#20)
‘26 Record: 23-5 (5-4 SEC). In OOC play, The aTm Milkmen Cult opened the season more mouth than ass with a 9 win streak over TN Tech, aTm Body of Christ, UPenn, Lamar, and Virginny Tech before losing their first game of the season to #1 UCLA. Then then went on a 6 game winning streak over Arizona State, UIW, Oakland, and Stone Cold Stephen F. Austin before conference play.
Once conference play started, aTm lost 2 of 3 to The OK Boomers—losing ground on Big XII supremacy—then lost 2 of 3 to Ugga before sweeping Missourah (spits). This… actually doesn’t tell us much. I’d put them in the same tier as The Diamond Dores, honestly, and would take us to win this series if it was at home. On the road in the land of weird Milkmen Military Cults? I’ll put the odds at 60-40 Milkmen.
Player to Watch: With some teams, there’s debate on this. Not aTm. Every baseball fan knows it’s #9 Jr. 1B Gavin “Wet Vac” Grahovac (.365/.477/.683 with 10 2B, 1 3B, 7 HR, and 39 RBI). He’s their best prospect, and he has torn us up in the past. Also watch out for #13 OF Caden “Rumex acetosa” Sorrell, who has superior offensive numbers to Grahovac, including 14 Dongers.
Anchor of Gold Tiger Beat Hottest Pitcher: #25 Jr. RHP Clayton “Cornpone” Freshcorn (2-1; 1.47 ERA; 6 SV). This may just be me being nostalgic for a closer, but the best way to beat the Milkmen is to not let him come in with a lead.
Andrew VU ‘04 2026 All-Name Team Nominee: Other than Clayton Freshcorn? If I had to, I’d go with #40 RS. Jr INF Blake “BTK” Binderup, but I don’t have to. It’s Clayton Freshcorn.
