The Dallas Cowboys are dealing with another off-field situation involving one of their defensive players.
Safety Markquese Bell was arrested Friday in Prosper, Texas, on charges of possession of a controlled substance and marijuana, according to Collin County jail records.

Local police handled the arrest, and while details remain limited, the incident could trigger a review under the NFL‘s personal conduct policy.
ESPN’s Todd Archer reported that the Cowboys are aware of what happened but declined to comment publicly.
The controlled substance count is classified as a felony, while the marijuana possession falls under a Class B misdemeanor.
Bell is not a household name, but he carved out a role in Dallas after going undrafted in 2022. He’s now in his fourth season with the team and the second year of a three-year, $9 million deal.

Last season, Bell appeared in all 17 games and started three of them. He finished with 34 tackles, one sack, one pass deflection, and a single pressure. He also contributed on special teams with 10 tackles in that phase of the game.
This marks the second arrest for a Cowboys player in recent weeks. Defensive end Donovan Ezeiruaku was taken into custody in January on a reckless driving charge. He was booked at Collin County Jail and released the same day.
Bell’s situation remains under review, and any potential discipline from the league could come down the line depending on how the legal process plays out.
