Jacob Misiorowski was dealing. Then he was leaving.
The Milwaukee Brewers’ rising star exited Friday’s game against the Washington Nationals with an apparent injury, after 5 1/3 hitless innings. He has struck out eight Nationals up that point, including the previous four batters.
After throwing a 98.9 mph pitch to James Wood — tied for his second-slowest fastball of the night out of 53 pitches — Misiorowski called in the trainer despite no visible pain or discomfort.
The Brewers opted to replace him with reliever Aaron Ashby, with the no-hitter still intact.
