With the first official week of summer upon us, the Cleveland Browns have a few days off until the next step in their offseason program. The big date on the calendar, besides “post June 1st,” is the mandatory minicamp. Now has been a good time to take different looks at the Browns roster:
- 7 potential starters are set to hit free agency
- 28 “locks” to make the 2026 53-man roster
- Changing out one UDFA for another
- Could the Supplemental Draft bring another QB to the roster?
We even projected the team’s initial 53-man roster just moments after the end of the 2026 NFL draft.
Another way to look at Cleveland’s revamped roster is to look back at last year’s initial 53-man unit to see which of those players are still on the 90-man roster heading into mandatory minicamp. There have been a lot of changes since the start of last season:
| Position | Starter(s) | Backup(s) |
|---|---|---|
| QB – 3 | Dillon Gabriel, Shedeur Sanders | |
| RB – 2 | Dylan Sampson | |
| WR – 6 | Jerry Jeudy, Cedric Tillman, Jamari Thrash | Gage Larvadain, Isaiah Bond, |
| TE – 4 | Harold Fannin, Blake Whiteheart, Brenden Bates | |
| OT – 4 | ||
| OG – 4 | Teven Jenkins, Zak Zinter | |
| C – 2 | Luke Wypler | |
| DE – 5 | Myles Garrett, Alex Wright | Isaiah McGuire, |
| DT – 5 | Mason Graham, Maliek Collins | Mike Hall Jr, |
| LB – 5 | Carson Schwesinger, |
|
| CB – 5 | Denzel Ward, |
|
| S – 5 | Grant Delpit, Ronnie Hickman | |
| K – 1 | Andre Szymt | |
| P – 1 | Corey Bojorquez | |
| LS – 1 | Rex Sunahara |
Around a third of last year’s 53-man roster (19) are no longer on Cleveland’s roster heading into more OTAs. That is a huge turnover with the offensive line seeing half the players no longer around.
What stands out to you about the players gone from the start of last year’s roster?
