Max Klare was taken by the Los Angeles Rams in the second round of the latest NFL Draft as they’ve continued to try and add to their tight end room. The talk of the Rams and their 2026 draft has rightfully revolved around them taking Ty Simpson, but Klare could wind up being the more used player in L.A. over the next couple seasons.
Of course, the Rams could’ve taken another skill position (like Kenyon Sadiq) earlier in the draft, so Klare may always be unfairly compared to other players the Rams could’ve had (like Makai Leomon), but Klare could end up being the right pick for the Rams, and that’s an exciting thought.
Time will tell. It’s May going on June, we have quite a ways before we see final rosters and Week 1 lineups. Will Klare be able to make an impact for the Rams in Week 1, or could it take some time?

Who’s fooling who? This rookie may fit Rams offense better than Kenyon Sadiq (rambinfan)
“LA Rams rookie tight end Max Klare essentially played two seasons for the Purdue Boilermakers and one season with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Over that time, he hauled in 114 passes for 1,329 yards and six touchdowns. But he learned to be effective without a football in his hands and was valued in the offense for his versatility.
Over three seasons, Kenyon Sadiq caught 80 passes for 892 yards and 11 touchdowns. But while Klare was the third option in Ohio State’s offense behind wide receivers Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate, Sadiq was numero uno in the Ducks’ offense.“
Analyst makes puzzling pick for Rams veteran who could be on hot seat (ramswire)
“We’re not talking about Matthew Stafford and first-round rookie quarterback Ty Simpson here. That isn’t even close to a hot-seat situation after the Rams extended Stafford this offseason.
The potential hot seat is that of tight end Tyler Higbee. Sports Illustrated‘s Matt Verderame named Higbee as one of the top veterans who could be on the hot seat this summer after the Rams spent a second consecutive Day 2 pick on a tight end. L.A. drafted Terrence Ferguson in the second round in 2025 before drafting Ohio State’s Max Klare in the second round in 2026.“
Eagles blockbuster trade rumor is informative news for Chiefs, Chargers, Bills, Rams (sportingnews.com)
“There’s a high probability the three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver finds a new home next month. On Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Buffalo Bills, and Los Angeles Rams learned valuable information about their chances of acquiring Brown.
“So, per the NFL’s internal system, if Brown were traded today, his cap number would jump to $43.515 million for 2026,” Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reported. “If he’s dealt next week, then the Eagles can take $16.353 million of it now (which is the past bonus proration set to hit the cap this year), and $27.162 million next year.”
Random Ramsdom Fandom:
“Simpson has a huge advantage with the Rams. He won’t fail because of his support system, which has him ahead of 90% of drafted QBs. He seems to have the required work ethic and from all accounts, the football IQ. I think having a year or two to be the backup will take care of the lack of starts in college. There are questions about his size and arm strength. Personally, I think he has enough there. I do wish he were a bit taller. In the end, all that matters will be if he can get it done on the field, or not.”-delusionalramfanslosteve
