For the second time this year, Hailey Van Lith is without a home in the WNBA. The former LSU women’s basketball guard was waived by the Connecticut Sun on Thursday.
It is the second time Van Lith was waived, following the Chicago Sky letting her go under a month ago. The Sky drafted her with the No. 11 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft. She played a full season before they sent her packing in April.
Van Lith played nine games and 10 or more minutes in each one for the Sun. She averaged 8.1 points on 49.2% shooting from the field and 1.6 assists per game. Through 29 games with the Sky in 2025, she posted 3.5 points per game.
After starting her college career at Louisville, Van Lith transferred to LSU to play point guard for head coach Kim Mulkey. She experienced a down year in scoring, which led to her moving to TCU for her fifth year. The guard averaged 15.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists through her college career.
