GROSSE POINTE WOODS — Sometimes, all it takes is one.
The St. Clair girls soccer team survived against Marysville, 1-0, in an MHSAA Division 2 district final at Gauerke Athletic Field on Thursday, May 28.
Marcella Farrell scored the lone goal for the Saints, who improved to 16-2-2 overall and advanced to next week’s regional semifinal against Orchard Lake St. Mary’s or Waterford Kettering.
The Vikings finished the season at 16-2-3.
Farell’s strike came with 2:38 remaining in the first half, when she drilled a wide-open shot from just inside the six-yard box.
