POTOMAC PARK — The Cresaptown Eagles rode an eight-run fourth inning to a 10-5 victory over the Travel Mug Sluggers in Mountain League Baseball Junior Division Action on Thursday at Holler Field.
Leading hitters for Cresaptown (1-0) were Walker Smith (3 for 5, two RBIs), Carson Vonstein (2 for 2, two RBIs) and Camden Emerick (two RBIs).
Liam Harper picked up the win, tossing five shutout, no-hit innings with two strikeouts and a walk.
Grady Miller doubled and drove in two runs for the Sluggers (1-1).
Ben Kamp took the loss despite a solid start in which he allowed a run on four hits in three innings.
Cresaptown hosts Hampshire at Hamilton Field on Monday at 6 p.m.
The Travel Mug Sluggers are at Outdoor Power on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Holler Field.
Hampshire 8 Westmar Builders 4
POTOMAC PARK — Hampshire plated seven runs over the final two innings to defeat Westmar Builders in a Junior Division game on Thursday at Memorial Field.
Jacob Hite had three hits for Hampshire (1-0), and Bentley Mynhier went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs. Hite tripled and doubled, and Mynhier and Baylor Simon doubled.
Mynhier picked up the win, surrendering an unearned run on one hit in four innings with nine strikeouts to two walks.
Parker Wells of Westmar Builders (1-1) pitched three shutout innings of one-hit ball, striking out four, in a no-decision.
Hampshire heads to Hamilton Field to take on the Cresaptown Eagles on Monday at 6 p.m.
Westmar Builders hosted Bedford on Friday and takes on Flintstone at Memorial Field on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Frostburg 11 Amoroso’s 3
WESTERNPORT — Jacob Shipe doubled twice and exploded for six RBIs to power Frostburg past Amoroso’s in a Junior Division game Thursday.
Shipe was 3 for 4, Evan Padovini went 3 for 3 with a triple, two ribbies and three runs, and Landon Smith singled twice.
Scott Cowan picked up the win after allowing a run on one hit in 3 1/3 frames of work, fanning seven and walking a pair.
Brayden Harvey went 3 for 3 with a triple for Amoroso’s (0-2), and Gunner Thomas doubled. Bayne Stowell was dealt the loss.
Frostburg (1-1) hosts Amoroso’s in a rematch on Monday at 6 p.m.
