The Golden State Warriors are keeping Kristaps Porzingis around.
The Warriors and Porzingis agreed to a two-year, $40 million extension on Mondaynight, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. He will now remain with the Warriors through the 2027-28 campaign.
Porzingis was dealt to Golden State ahead of the trade deadline last season as part of the deal that sent Jonathan Kuminga to the Atlanta Hawks. Kuminga has since become a free agent after the Hawks declined to pick up his option ahead of the deadline on Monday.
Porzingis averaged 16.1 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest in 15 games with the Warriors last season, his 10th in the league.
