European champion Danielle Hill qualified for Monday night’s 50m backstroke final with victory in her heat.
The Larne swimmer, who is competing in her fourth Commonwealth Games, finished in a time of 28.04 seconds.
Only Kylie Masse posted a quicker time to qualify for the final with the Canadian winning her heat in 27.79.
There is no place in the final for Hill’s team-mate Lottie Cullen who missed out by just 0.11 seconds on a top-16 placing.
