According to a report from the Dayton Daily News, Ohio State five-star wide receiver commit Jamier Brown is back practicing at Wayne High School in Huber Heights (OH).
The news comes as a shock as Brown transferred from Wayne to Big Walnut, near Columbus, in January.
He was given an exception by the Ohio High School Athletic Association to compete for Big Walnut during the 2026 track and field season. He competed in the state tournament and won three individual state championships.
Brown’s eligibility will remain in question leading up to the season as he will need to re-apply for another exception to play his senior season with Big Walnut following another transfer.
One of the nation’s premier pass-catchers in the 2027 class, Brown caught 73 passes for 1,009 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also carried the ball 10 times for 82 yards and two touchdowns while also accounting for three special teams touchdowns.
A long-time Ohio State commitment, he announced his pledge to the Buckeyes on November 23, 2024. 247Sports ranks Brown as the No. 32 player in the 2027 cycle, the No. 6 wide receiver and No. 1 player out of Ohio.
According to the updated USA TODAY Sports composite ranking, Brown ranks as the No. 26 overall player in the country.
