Enes Kanter recently appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored to discuss the ongoing debate around transgender athletes competing in the WNBA.
The debate was sparked a couple of months ago when Sophie Cunningham mentioned wanting to protect girls from competing against biological males.
Former NBA player Enes Kanter has since declared for the 2027 WNBA draft and has now been speaking to Piers Morgan about the issue.

Enes Kanter suggests WNBA have no idea ‘what kind of fire’ they’re playing with
When doing so, he mentioned that men competing in the G League could earn a lot more if they instead started playing in the WNBA, before adding that the WNBA don’t know ‘what kind of fire’ they’re playing with.
Kanter said when appearing on Piers Morgan Uncensored: “I mean, get this. So a G League player, right, makes around $45,000 a year. At the top, WNBA player makes around $1.4 million. So all he has to do, right, all he has to do, just simply identify himself as a woman, and he will be making $1.4 million instead of $45,000.
“So the WNBA have no idea that what they are actually, what kind of fire that they’re playing with.”
Kanter went on to say it is not a right or left-wing issue before claiming that Cunningham said the same thing when he spoke to the Indiana Fever player.
He continued: “So, I’m just very confused that, I just don’t want people to think that this is a right or left-wing issue. When I have a conversation with Sophie Cunningham, right? She said the same thing. This is not a right or left-wing issue because they’re calling her like a MAGA Barbie or whatever.
“She said this is literally a common sense. They’re trying to put me, her, or anyone out there that, in a box so that the one side can hate us.”
Kanter previously suggested last month that he will walk away if the WNBA can define a woman, but at the time of writing, the league have made no changes to their rules.
He also floated the idea of a ‘peace summit’ with the WNBA that could be moderated by Caitlyn Jenner.
