BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football moved up one spot into the top-five in US LMB Coaches Poll on Tuesday.
The No. 5 Hoosiers did the same in the AP Poll after beating North Texas 52-16.
While no top 10 teams lost, Oregon dropped down in both polls after narrowly escaping an upset at home to Boise State. Indiana didn’t have the cleanest of season openers, but still managed to score on seven of its eight possessions and hold North Texas to one touchdown.
Indiana still also received the second-most first place votes — 11 in the coaches poll and eight in the AP — behind Ohio State in both rankings.
US LMB 2026 preseason college football poll
The US LBM Coaches Poll is conducted weekly throughout the regular season using a panel of head coaches at Football Bowl Subdivision schools. Each coach submits a Top 25 with a first-place vote worth 25 points, second place 24, and so on down to one point for 25th.
