Athletes from Archbishop Hoban and Mogadore high schools won the voting for the Akron-Area High School Athlete of the Week for Sept. 7-13.
Abigail Alden is the girls winner and Maddox Smith wins for the boys. Alden, who plays soccer for Hoban, received 77.3% of the votes cast. Smith, a football player for Mogadore, received 56.2% of the votes cast.
A total 5,303 votes were cast overall. Look for more on each athlete below.

Abigail Alden, Hoban soccer
Scored two goals in a 4-0 win over Hathaway Brown.
Maddox Smith, Mogadore football
Totaled four touchdowns (two passing, two rushing) and four two-point conversions (two passing, two rushing) in a 46-16 win over Malvern.
