Before he was a Super Bowl MVP and lighting it up on primetime in the NFL for the Kansas City Chiefs, Kenneth Walker III was one of the most legendary player in Michigan State football history, winning the Doak Walker Award in 2021 for an MSU team that made some noise in what was ultimately Mel Tucker’s only strong season in East Lansing.
There has been a lot of talk over the years, outside the MSU fan base of course, about Walker’s loyalties. Walker started his collegiate football career at Wake Forest before transferring to Michigan State. However, he’s made it pretty clear that MSU has a special place in his heart. And it seems like he’s high on the current team under new head coach Pat Fitzgerald.
On Friday, Walker explained that he has a friendly bet with Chiefs’ teammate Emmett Johnson, a former running back at Nebraska, that the Spartans will take down the Cornhuskers. Whichever player’s team loses, that player will have to wear the other team’s hoodie, in what is a fun little wager between teammates.
Walker explained the wager below:

If MSU loses, he has to wear a Nebraska hoodie. If Nebraska wins, Johnson has to wear a Michigan State hoodie.
