DOYLESTOWN — A pair of Suburban One League National Conference football contenders in North Penn and Central Bucks West renewed their rivalry Friday night.
And it was CB West, after a fourth quarter comeback, prevailing 28-26 at War Memorial Field.
The Knights led 20-7 at halftime, but the Bucks closed the gap to 20-14 after three, and took their first lead of the game with 8:25 left in the fourth. With under a minute to go, the Knights scored for the first time since the second quarter but were unable to convert the game-tying two-point conversion.
North Penn downed Lower Dauphin 41-7, lost to Central York 42-33 and then topped Upper Dublin 35-0 and Pennsbury 35-7 in the first four weeks while CB West defeated Easton (36-7), Wilson West Lawn (35-23) and Souderton (35-14) to start the season before falling at Pennridge 14-7 in Week 4.
