The Cleveland Browns head into the short week versus the Pittsburgh Steelers with a chance to take over the top spot in the AFC North. Thursday Night Football can often lead to teams playing it safe with their injured players and walkthroughs more than practices.
Early in the season, the Browns have mostly had good injury luck, but CB Tyson Campbell missing Week 3 was concerning.
Heading into Week 4, Cleveland HC Todd Monken noted that Campbell was close to playing versus the Carolina Panthers and was likely to play against the Steelers this week. Neither team practiced on Monday, but were required to create participation/injury reports for Week 4 based on their estimates of what players would have been able to do.
Browns injury report
- CB Tyson Campbell – Knee – Limited
- S Grant Delpit – Shoulder – Limited
- OL Tytus Howard – Knee – Limited
- OL Elgton Jenkins – Concussion – DNP
- OL Teven Jenkins – Back – DNP
- WR Tylan Wallace – Knee – DNP
E. Jenkins is likely to miss Thursday Night Football due to the testing requirements for the concussion protocol. Rookie Paker Brailsford is listed as the backup center, but he’s been inactive to start the season, while Luke Wypler has been active.
Steelers injury report
- CB Jalen Ramsey – Wrist – Limited
- RB Rico Dowdle – Toe – DNP
- CB Joey Porter Jr. – Not injury related/conditioning – Full
- CB Brandin Echols – Concussion – Limited
Porter has not played in Pittsburgh’s first three games due to a contract dispute and returning from a back issue in training camp. It seems unlikely, based on the Steelers’ rules against negotiating in season, that Porter will return for this week’s contest.
How big of a deal do you think E. Jenkins’ injury would be if he has to miss the game? Do you think Porter plays this week?
