SAN DIEGO, CALIF. – Texas State football is welcomed to the Pac-12 on the West Coast, visiting San Diego State for the opening of conference play.
The Bobcats’ season has picked up after two straight wins, including a recent 63-10 demolition of the Incarnate Word Cardinal. Quarterback Brad Jackson’s play has improved after a slow start. Running backs Torrance Burgess Jr. and Davian Jackson look utterly dominant behind one of the best offensive lines in the Pac-12.

Things are not as rosy on the Aztecs’ side. A serious case of mumps has infected the team, knocking at least 14 players out of commission. Running backs Lucky Sutton and Javion Kinnard suffered injuries in a loss to Toledo, leaving SDSU thin on depth at the position. Considering quarterback Jayden Denegal’s lacklustre play, the Aztecs are facing an uphill battle on offense.
Texas State’s defense has a chance to show its recent improvements are no fluke. Although it’s currently allowing the most passing yards per game in the conference, some adjustments give hope that improvements are more than just a dream.
