Born in 1989, Darmian is a versatile and dependable player who can operate in several roles out wide and, when required, in a deeper position. A hugely experienced player, he now begins the latest chapter of a long and successful career. His main attributes include sound technique, positional awareness and excellent tactical discipline, as well as consistency, an ability to read the game and a strong balance between his defensive and attacking duties.
Darmian came through the AC Milan youth academy and made his Serie A debut in the 2006/07 season. After spells with Padova and Palermo, he established himself at Torino, where he spent four seasons and became one of the most highly regarded full-backs in Italian football. He also featured in two Champions League finals.
Darmian made his senior Italy debut in 2014 and represented the Azzurri at that year’s World Cup in Brazil. He has earned more than 40 international caps, while his club honours include one Scudetto, two Coppa Italia trophies, one Supercoppa Italiana, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the UEFA Europa League.
