The Cowboys have had a long run with a game in Brazil on Sept. 27, followed by a trip to Houston for an early game Sunday and then tonight’s game against the Buccaneers. The offense played 71 and 73 snaps against the Ravens and Texans, respectively.
In the first half Thursday night, the Cowboys played like a jet-lagged team. They lead 10-7 despite an unimpressive half of football.
The winless Buccaneers outgained the Cowboys 154-146. Dallas had the ball for only 10 minutes, 31 seconds and scored on only two of five possessions.
Cowboys running back Javonte Williams scored on a 1-yard run following the opening kickoff, and Brandon Aubrey kicked a 41-yard field goal on the team’s last series of the first half.
Dak Prescott is 9-of-20 for 114 yards, while Williams has rushed for 32 yards on seven carries. CeeDee Lamb has only one catch for 4 yards and George Pickens three for 36.
Jalon Daniels, starting a second consecutive game for the injured Baker Mayfield, threw a 5-yard touchdown to Bucky Irving.
Daniels is 12-of-16 for 91 yards, with Chris Godwin catching three passes for 37 yards. Irving has nine carries for 35 yards.
Chase McLaughlin kicked a 61-yard field goal in the second quarter, but officials waved it off, calling the Bucs for a delay of game. They punted.
