Contender Series 2026 Week 10 continues with a fight between Aline Pereira and Smilla Sundell in the women’s bantamweight division. Check out our Contender Series odds series for our Pereira-Sundell prediction and pick.
Aline Pereira (3-2) enters this fight with all three of her wins coming by decision. She is on a two-fight winning streak. Her latest win was a split decision over Jade Masson-Wong at MVP MMA 1 on May 16. Before that she beat Nejra Repp at LFA 222. Her trend is going the distance, as she comes into her fight this week against Smilla Sundell.
Smilla Sundell (2-0) is undefeated in her short MMA career with both wins by TKO at Tuff-N-Uff. She stopped Maya Stewart with punches and knees in Round 2 on June 5. She opened with a Round 1 TKO of Miranda Barber with knees and elbows on January 22. Her Muay Thai clinch and knee strikes are the trend, as she comes into her fight this week against Aline Pereira.

Why Aline Pereira Will Win
Aline Pereira’s strongest case against Smilla Sundell is experience, rather than trying to overwhelm an accomplished Muay Thai champion. Pereira enters at 3-2 in professional MMA, with all three victories coming by decision, giving her proven experience managing rounds.
Her striking credentials also deserve respect, with a GLORY title opportunity and a Karate Combat championship on her résumé. Those achievements suggest she can present a technical challenge rather than simply survive against Sundell’s pressure.
The tactical priority should be controlling exchanges through measured boxing, lateral movement and timely exits before Sundell establishes prolonged clinch attacks. Pereira does not need a physical advantage to succeed; she needs to make positioning and shot selection more influential than Sundell’s size.
Sundell’s 2-0 record includes two TKO victories, but her MMA experience remains limited compared with Pereira’s five professional appearances. Pereira’s most realistic route is to interrupt that finishing momentum, force resets and turn an explosive matchup into a contested fight.
Why Smilla Sundell Will Win
Smilla Sundell arrives at Contender Series Week 10 at 2-0 as a pro, with both wins by TKO. Fight Matrix ranks her No. 42 among women’s bantamweights, a strong spot for someone this early in her career.
Her key skill is elite Muay Thai. She is a former ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion who won that title at 17.
That striking base is her clearest advantage over Aline Pereira, who is 3-2. Sundell is 5’10” at bantamweight, so her length can help her control range.
She is also young, at 20 or 21 depending on the source, so she has time to keep developing. Her two TKO finishes show she can turn technical striking into stoppages.
Her most realistic path is to stay on the outside, use clean kicks and knees, and keep Pereira from settling into a rhythm. If she lands early, she can build toward a TKO.
Pereira has two more pro fights and a famous family name, so Sundell can’t be careless. Still, if her striking holds up, she has a clear route to victory.
Final Aline Pereira-Smilla Sundell Prediction & Pick
Smilla Sundell is my pick to beat Aline Pereira by second-round TKO on Tuesday. Her championship Muay Thai background and two stoppage wins in two professional MMA appearances make her the more compelling finishing threat.
Sundell’s best approach is to apply measured pressure, establish her straight strikes and punish Pereira when exchanges move into clinching range. Her knees and elbows have already produced an MMA stoppage, giving that strategy a credible foundation.
Pereira deserves respect at 3-2, with all three victories coming by decision. Her clearest opportunity is to slow the exchanges, counter accurately and test Sundell’s patience over three rounds.
The concern for Sundell is that striking pedigree does not eliminate the uncertainties surrounding such a young MMA career. Still, I expect her sustained offense to create increasingly difficult defensive decisions for Pereira, with accumulated damage producing a potential stoppage late and a UFC contract.
Final Aline Pereira-Smilla Sundell Prediction & Pick: Smilla Sundell (-450)
