The San Antonio Spurs will wear silver throwback uniforms modeled on the team’s original San Antonio home jerseys during nine games in the 2026-27 season.
The team unveiled its Nike Classic Edition uniforms Monday, Oct. 12, to mark the 50th anniversary of the merger between the American Basketball Association and the NBA. The original jerseys were worn at HemisFair Arena after the franchise moved to San Antonio in 1973. The throwback uniforms will be paired with a special Classic Edition court.
The Spurs also released a promotional video on YouTube narrated by franchise legend George “Iceman” Gervin, who reflects on the team’s history and its connection to San Antonio.
“We came from humble beginnings and built something made to last,” Gervin said in the video. “From the red, white and blue of our early days to the silver and black, every chapter has shaped who we are.”
The jerseys feature a silver base, the original arched “Spurs” wordmark across the chest and a commemorative ABA tag above the jock tag. The shorts bring back the original black diamond backdrop surrounding the Spurs logo.
The uniforms honor the franchise’s ABA beginnings. In 1976, San Antonio was one of four ABA teams to join the NBA, along with the Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers and New York Nets.
“From the original design worn at HemisFair Arena to the special court with the ABA 50th anniversary logo, this season-long celebration will connect generations of fans to our past while carrying that legacy forward into the future,” said Jordan Mandelkorn, vice president of marketing, creative and retail at Spurs Sports & Entertainment.

The Classic Edition court also revives the franchise’s original red, white and blue color scheme from its ABA days.
At center court, a retro “San Antonio, Texas” logo features a red outline of Texas surrounded by blue stars. The Spurs’ classic spur logo appears inside the three-point arc at each end, while blue sidelines carry the team’s wordmark.
Red-painted areas sit beneath both baskets, and an ABA-NBA 50th anniversary logo near the baseline marks the leagues’ 1976 merger.
The court will debut with the Classic Edition uniforms Wednesday, Nov. 4, when the Spurs host the Dallas Mavericks at Frost Bank Center.

• Thursday, March 25 vs. Indiana Pacers
• Friday, April 9 vs. Denver Nuggets
The throwback collection, presented by Ledger, will be available for presale beginning Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 10 a.m. Central. Merchandise will officially go on sale Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Spurs fan shops and online at SpursFanShop.com.
