A few weeks ago, after much speculation and rumors, Netflix finally confirmed the Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury fight. The two heavyweights are set to box each other on Dec. 11, 2026, at the 78,000-seat Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
After weeks of speculation, the fight was finally announced on Sept. 24, 2026. However, recently appearing on The Pat McAfee Show, White was asked whether he had planned to announce the fight during UFC Freedom 250 at the White House.
“Yeah. F**k [happened]. A lot of f***ing has gone on since then,” White confirmed about announcing the fight at Freedom 250. “And here we are. We finally got here. We have tickets on sale. Tickets did well. So it’s been interesting, but I knew these types of things were going to happen when I got involved in the sport of boxing.”

The UFC President confirmed that this was the case, but things got in the way of this, and then it took several more months before the original confirmation came. Since Netflix originally announced the fight last month, several new developments have taken place.
While Joshua and his promoter Eddie Hearn wanted the fight to take place in the UK, White was in favor of the fight taking place at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, due to business reasons. Ultimately, the fight was decided to take place in Cardiff, Wales, with White and the UFC promoting it. However, Hearn has a lot to say about White and the UFC promoting the fight as well.
Following the Joshua vs. Fury fight confirmation, a White vs. Hearn feud also began, and the two were recently teased to have a boxing fight by the Misfits Boxing co-founder.
