The Auburn basketball team is still competing in the NIT, but they have already started making additions for next year’s roster. They announced the signing of 7-foot French center Narcisse Ngoy on Tuesday.
“He’s a high-upside young man who brings toughness, physicality, and a team-first mindset to everything he does,” head coach Stephen Pearl said. “Narcisse has a strong feel for the game on both ends of the floor. His instincts, ability to catch and finish around the basket, rim protection, and willingness to embrace contact will make him an immediate impact while filling a huge need for our team.”
Ngoy competed in the French Elite 2 League last season, leading the league with 11.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks, while adding 10.8 points per game. He is shooting 70.1% from the field and did not attempt a three-pointer.
The Tigers are losing starting center KeShawn Murphy, and backup Emeka Oporun has not played since December due to an injury. Pearl has been impressed by Ngoy’s competitive nature and willingness to do whatever it takes for his team to win.
“What stands out the most is his commitment to winning. He’s not focused on individual numbers—he takes pride in doing the hard, physical work that helps his team succeed,” Pearl said. “He competes at a high level, processes the game well, and understands how to play within a system.”
