Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Brazilian international midfielder Bruno Guimarães from Newcastle United.
In an official statement, the London club welcomed the 28-year-old with reports suggesting that the transfer was completed for a fixed fee of £75 million. The Brazilian player has signed a contract valid until the summer of 2030, with the option to extend for a further year.
It should also be noted that Lyon will receive between £5 million and £6 million following the completion of this transfer, as the French side holds a percentage (20 per cent) of the profit from a future sale, according to The Athletic.
The midfielder leaves Newcastle after 195 appearances, having scored 31 goals and provided 31 assists. A new chapter now begins with the current English champions, with the move expected to be officially announced in the coming days.
