It’s time to take a look at the standout high school performers from Stark County for the past week.
Your vote will determine who will be the Anderson Aid Pest Control Stark County High School Athlete of the Week for Sept. 28-Oct. 3. We will pick one girl and one boy. Each athlete’s credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 5 p.m. Thursday. The winners will be announced Friday morning on CantonRep.com.
Now, let’s meet the candidates, who were selected by the Repository sports staff based on results submitted to the Rep.

Here’s a look at the girls nominees for Stark County Athlete of the Week, in alphabetical order:
Reese Brickwood, Jackson soccer
Scored two goals in a 3-1 win over GlenOak.
Bailee Espenschied, Fairless soccer
Scored two goals and added an assist in a 5-0 win over Carrollton.
Makenzie Fearon, Perry tennis
Won the Division I sectional singles title, winning all five of her matches in straight sets and losing four games total.
Ashley Helle & Claire Williams, North Canton Hoover tennis
Won the Division I sectional doubles championship, winning all five of their matches in straight sets and dropping just two games total.
Adysen Hill, Perry volleyball
Recorded the 500th kill of her career in a loss to GlenOak, recording 11 kills in the match.
Ellie Hutzler, North Canton Hoover golf
Won the Division I sectional tournament at The Elms Country Club, shooting 70 and leading Hoover to the team title.
Irelyn Johnson, Marlington cross country
Won the girls race at the Stark County Championships for the second straight year, finishing more than a minute ahead of the field with a winning time of 18:25.48.
Avery McMahon, Canton Central Catholic volleyball
Totaled 40 kills, 39 serve receptions, 27 digs, four blocks (three solo), three assists and one ace in three matches.
Jasmin Sevilla, Canton Central Catholic soccer
Scored all four goals in a 4-1 win over Sandy Valley.
Here’s a look at the boys nominees for Stark County Athlete of the Week, in alphabetical order:
Cashe Brisker, Alliance football
Ran for 259 yards and three touchdowns on 28 carries, threw for 59 yards on 6-of-10 passing, and made an interception with three tackles defensively in a 39-14 rout of Howland.
Darius Hill, Canton McKinley football
Broke McKinley’s school record for career receptions during a nine-catch performance for 165 yards and a touchdown in a 35-7 win over Hoover, giving him 109 career catches.
Logan Howard, Canton South cross country
Became the first Canton South runner to win at the Stark County Cross Country Championships, finishing in 15:56.79.
Kiptin Kiko, Minerva soccer
Scored three goals in a 6-1 win over Carrollton, had a goal and an assist in a 4-2 loss to Tusky Valley, and had an assist in a 4-1 win over Aquinas.
Lucas Neff, Louisville football
Ran for 167 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries in a win at Canfield.
Logan Samples, Northwest soccer
Scored a goal in a 3-0 win over Aquinas and scored a goal in a 3-3 tie against Manchester.
Riley Shannon, Marlington soccer
Scored a goal and had an assist in a 3-1 win over rival Alliance.
Geno Szymanski, Jackson football
Caught nine passes for 168 yards and a touchdown in a win over Lake.
Andy Torchilo, Lake Center Christian soccer
Scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over United Local.
