Craig Gordon is set to become the second-oldest player in World Cup history if he makes an appearance for Scotland in North America next summer. Gordon would be second only to former Egypt goalkeeper Essam El Hadary, who made history at Russia 2018 by starting the third game against Saudi Arabia aged 45 years and 161 days. Angus Gunn started Scotland’s first four games in the 2026 qualification campaign before missing out through injury for the final two games against Greece and Denmark.
